Tulsa’s Hurtt Selected as dunk of the Year Nominee
CHICAGO, Illinois – University of Tulsa senior guard Justin Hurtt’s thunderous one-handed slam against Oklahoma State on December 8, 2010 was selected as a 2011 Dunk of the Year nominee, announced today by sports television production and event marketing company Intersport. The 2011 Dunk of the Year is wholly determined by fan voting and will be announced on a one-hour “Dunks of the Year” special airing on April 2.

Hurtt’s dunk – in which he split Oklahoma State defenders and threw down a vicious one-handed slam – is competing against three other dunkers in week two, including Jordan Hamilton (Texas), Jermaine Mallett (Missouri State), and Derrick Williams (Arizona). The week one winner was a thunderous posterization by High Point guard Shay Shine.
To support Hurtt, fans can vote once a day and share their vote with their Facebook friends. Week two voting is open until Sunday, January 23 at 11:59 p.m. ET.
