Tulsa’s No. 5 Men’s Soccer Team Hosts No. 20 South Carolina on Saturday
Tulsa, Oklahoma – Tulsa’s fifth-ranked men’s soccer team will host 20th-ranked South Carolina on Saturday, Oct. 9th beginning at 7:05 p.m. at the Hurricane Soccer and Track Stadium. Tickets are $6 for adults and $4 for youth (12 and under).
The Golden Hurricane enters the contest with a 7-2 overall record and a 1-0 mark in Conference , and is coming off a tough 3-1 loss to 11th-ranked Creighton on Tuesday. Tulsa currently ranks seventh in the nation in scoring offense with 2.5 goals per game.
Austin Neil leads TU with eight goals for 16 points and Ashley McInnes has five goals and four assists for 14 points. Ray Clark has logged over 800 minutes in goal, picked up 27 saves and two shutouts this season.
The Gamecocks come to town with a 5-3-1 overall record and a 1-1 mark in league play, including a 3-1 loss to seventh-ranked on Wednesday. is led by Blake Brettschneider who has four goals, while Will Traynor and Bradlee Baladez have three goals apiece. Baladez was selected as the College Soccer News National Player of the Week for his performance last week.
Jimmy Maurer has also posted over 800 minutes in goal, picked up 32 saves and has earned four shutouts this season.
Tulsa has a 4-2-2 lead in the series with the Gamecocks.
