Tulsa Shock Unveil New Uniforms

TULSA, Okla. – The WNBA’s Tulsa Shock unveiled their home and road uniforms for their inaugural 2010 season, the club’s front office announced today.
The uniforms are officially Shock Gold, and the jerseys have a v-neck with a splash of Shock Red, and are accented by a lightning-bolt stripes down the sides in Shock Black.Additional, white pencil striped accents run top to bottom on the front.
The front of the jerseys feature the Shock name in bold black letters italicized across the chest from bottom to top, and includes the WNBA and Adidas logos.
The shorts are highlighted by the Shock’s secondary logo on the front at the bottom of the right leg, and the Adidas logo on the left.
“We wanted our home uniforms to have bright colors, not just be white,” team owner Bill Cameron stated on behalf of the ownership group.“We thought having them in Shock Gold would be a great way to accomplish this.So, we want our fans to embrace our uniforms and get behind the team by wearing this yellow-gold color to all our home games,” Cameron continued.“We’ll even have a few ‘Paint the House Yellow’ nights.”
Shock players Marion Jones, Plenette Pierson and Alexis Hornbuckle attended the unveiling ceremony to model the uniforms.
“This is another exciting day in Tulsa Shock history,” team president Steve Swetoha said.“We are working hard to get ready for opening night, but this is the fun stuff.”
“Our color scheme of gold, black and red is very unique in the league, and these uniforms really showcase that uniqueness. The players will look great in them on the court and we can’t wait for the fans to see them in action,” said Coach Nolan Richardson.
The ceremony took place at the Natalie Medical Building and was hosted by Warren Clinic Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine (Warren Clinic), which is a division of Saint Francis Health System.The Shock also announced today that the Warren Clinic is the official health care partner and providing the team’s physicians and the team’s athletic trainer.
Swetoha commented, “We are so thrilled to have the Warren Clinic Orthopedic Surgery and Sports Medicine as our team provider.From the very beginning we knew they would be a great group to work with.We know our players will receive the absolute best care in Warren Clinic’s hands.”
The Shock debut their new uniforms at the inaugural seaon opener on May 15 at the BOK Center versus the Minnesota Lynx.Season tickets are on sale now at 918-599-WNBA and www.tulsashock.net
