Tulsa Softball Earns No. 2 Seed for C-USA Championship
TULSA, Okla. – The University of Tulsa softball team will take the field at the 2010 Conference USA Softball Championship in Houston as the No. 2 seed, and will face 7-seeded Memphis is the first round Thursday at 11 a.m. at the Cougar Softball Stadium.
All information about the Softball Championship, including tournament schedule and Gametracker links, can be found at http://conferenceusa.cstv.com/championships/10-w-softbl-championship.htmlThe Golden Hurricane (31-20, 14-6 C-USA) finished the season with a three-game road sweep at Marshall, while Memphis (24-25, 8-15 C-USA) lost three against East Carolina. Tulsa won two of three games against Memphis during the regular season C-USA series on March 27-28.
No. 3-seed UCF and No. 6-seed UTEP are on Tulsa’s side of the bracket, and play at 1:30 p.m. Thursday. The other side of the eight-team bracket includes top-seeded East Carolina and No. 8 Southern Miss, which play at 4:30 p.m. Thursday, and No. 4 UAB and No. 5 seed and host team, Houston, which play at 7 p.m. Thursday. The semifinal games are set for Friday at 3 p.m. and 5:30 p.m., and the championship game will be played Saturday at 1:30 p.m. live on CBS College Sports.
Tickets for the 2010 C-USA Softball Championship are just $25 for adult all-session books and $20 for youth all-session books. Single game tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for youth tickets.
