Tulsa Tough 2011 blew through town in a blaze of glory. Thousands of local spectators gathered around the courses to watch one of the best urban bicycle events in the nation.

The spectra of racers included men and women, ten-year-olds, over forty’s and world-class professionals. The races took anywhere from 25 minutes to nine hours in junior sprints to 120 mile Gran Fondos, respectively.

Local riders fared well with a Brady Village Criterium Category Four champion in Team Tulsa Tough’s William Radler. Tulsa Tough’s Helene Carabin took second in the women’s Master 40-plus in the Brady Village Criterium while Tulsa Tough’s William Gault won the men’s Master 40-plus in the Riverview Criterium.

Tom’s Bicycles’ Toby Smith placed second at the Riverview Criterium Category Five 35-plus and Brian Franklin of Double Shot Coffee placed fifth in the same race.

Many more Tulsan’s placed throughout the event, too many to fit in this space. Congratulations to the racers and congratulations to Tulsa.
