Tulsa Volleyball Wins Epic Thriller at SMU, 3-2


DALLAS – Tyler Henderson shattered the school-record with 45 kills and hit .470, while Diana Silva recorded her fifth double-double of the season as The University of Tulsa volleyball team stayed unbeaten in Conference play with a thrilling 3-2 (25-27, 26-24, 25-15, 23-25, 15-9) victory over Wednesday evening at Moody Fieldhouse.

Henderson’s kill total eclipsed the previous school standard of 38, set by Kristen Van Lierop against Morehead State in 2000. The Golden Hurricane (14-2, 5-0 C-) hit .341 as a team to take hold of first place one-quarter of the way through the conference race.

Jordan Clampitt had a career-high 70 assists, the fourth-best total in school history. Silva had 11 kills and 24 digs, Jessica Adams had 22 digs and Kellie Culbertson had 18 digs for TU.

The Golden Hurricane returns home this weekend to face Saturday and Sunday at the Reynolds Center; both matches start at 1 p.m.
