The Tulsa Area United Way is a non-profit organization that provides services to contributors by distributing and monitoring funds. Founded in 1924, the Tulsa Area United Way services agencies in Creek, Okmulgee, Osage, Rogers, Tulsa, and Wagoner Counties.

The United Way begins its 80th fundraising campaign on September 10 with a kickoff ceremony at Drillers Stadium and the 13th Annual Day of Caring. The program will include a performance by the Booker T. Washington “Funky D’s,” a bi-plane flyover, and a skydiver. Tickets are $5 and available through the Drillers Stadium ticket office. A goal of $20,801,071 has been set for this year’s campaign.

On the Day of Caring, volunteers from Tulsa-area companies take part in one of the country’s largest one-day volunteer events. Volunteers take the day off from their normal workday to volunteer at one of the United Way’s 68 member agencies. Activities include building wheelchair ramps, painting, gardening, picnics with children, and more.
