Three-time world long drive champion Sean “The Beast” Fister, above, will be among the celebrities appearing at the Tulsa Golf & Travel Expo presented by Jackie Cooper Imports Feb. 22-24 at the Quik Trip Center in Expo Square (Tulsa Fairgrounds). Champions Tour stars Ron Streck and David Edwards, along with Oklahoma teaching legend Marshall Smith, will be among the other celebrities giving free seminars.

Fister won the Long Drivers Association event as recently as 2005, becoming the oldest to do so at age 43. His longest recorded drive is 515 yards with a highest recorded swing speed of 171 mph.

Hours for the show will be 11 a.m. to 6 on Friday, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Tickets are $8, or $5 with a discount coupon available in the Tulsa World the week of the show. In addition, children 14 and under are free. Upon entry, golfers are awarded a full year’s subscription to Golf Digest or Golf For Women.

Attendees will once again be able to find bargains on golf equipment and apparel as well as information on many different travel destinations and courses from within the region.

Competitors will enjoy the challenges of the putting, long drive and closest to the pin contests, all for prizes. Major club manufacturers will be represented at the show in the Cherokee Casino Demo Area, where golfers can test new clubs before they are available nationwide.

A new feature is the PGA instruction area where PGA professionals will give free 10-minute lessons to golfers throughout the expo.
