Tulsa Hispanic Chamber Honored by State Farm
The Greater Tulsa Hispanic Chamber recently honored State Farm Insurance for its role in the ongoing success of the Chamber’s Small Business Academy. Ed Martinez and Mike Ruiz of State Farm both received plaques in recognition of their support.
“Without the generosity of companies like State Farm Insurance and people like Martinez and Ruiz, the Tulsa Hispanic Chamber would not be able to help the community in promoting, advocating, and advancing Hispanic business interests in the greater Tulsa area and through the state of Oklahoma,” says Francisco Treviño, executive director of the Chamber.
The Small Business Academy, now in its third year, helps Hispanic entrepreneurs start and grow small businesses.
Treviño explained that the multi-session program covers topics ranging from financing, to marketing and human resources.
“Besides it’s a great opportunity to develop a successful and achievable business and commercial plan,” he says.
The Greater Tulsa Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, which is the first Hispanic Chamber in Oklahoma, was established in 1999 with the mission of advocating, developing, and advancing Hispanic business interests in the greater Tulsa area and throughout the state.
