Tulsa United Way Reaches Mid-Point
Volunteer leaders for the Tulsa Area United Way campaign report that 47.5 per cent of this year’s campaign goal has been raised at the halfway point.
“Given the challenge created by recent disasters, we are cautiously optimistic,” says John Gaberino, senior vice president of ONEOK and chairman of the campaign. “But we will still need help from the entire community.”
Gaberino stressed there is still time for companies to become involved in the campaign and encouraged them to call the United Way office for information.
“There are a number of companies new to Tulsa as well as established companies that have never before run campaigns who are really coming through to help the community,” he said. “At the same time, thousands of individuals have stretched to make leadership gifts of $500 or more.”
The 2005 campaign is scheduled to close November 10. For more information, call 583-7171 or go online at www.tauw.org.
