Tulsey Award Winners Announced

Members of the Tulsa business community announced the winners of the 5th Annual Tulsey Awards, held at the Oklahoma Jazz Hall of Fame Nov. 16.

In a ceremony that slightly mimicked the Oscars and Music Awards, 11 category winners were awarded with a golden bronze Driller statuette to recognize their entrepreneurial spirit.

One nominee had the possibility of receiving two Tulsey Awards by receiving the most votes in the competition for the Tulsey Entrepreneur of the Year. 55,000 votes were made online at the Tulsey website, www.thetulseys.com. This year’s 2012 Tulsey Award Entrepreneur of the Year went to Judi Grove with Turn Tulsa Pink.

Kauffman Support
The Tulseys culminated Tulsa Global Entrepreneurship Week. Global Entrepreneurship Week was started by the world’s largest foundation devoted to entrepreneurship: the Kauffman Foundation. Across the world, Global Entrepreneurship Week engages millions of people to join a growing movement of entrepreneurs, to generate new ideas and to seek better ways of doing business. Countries across six continents come together to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week during November. Global Entrepreneurship Week events were held in Tulsa Nov. 9 – 15.

All of the events during Tulsa Global Entrepreneurship Week, including the Tulsey Awards, were coordinated by the City’s Economic Development Commission Entrepreneurship Committee.
