Turf Solutions Group Contributes to Golf Facility’s Top National Ranking
Palatine, Ill. (Vocus/PRWEB ) February 11, 2010 — After recently celebrating the two-year anniversary of its grand opening, Golf Nation in Palatine has enjoyed a year ranked as the No. 1 facility of its kind in the country. In its Feb. 2009 issue, “Golf Range Times” magazine named the facility in Chicago’s northwest suburbs the Best New Range of 2008. WGN TV called Golf Nation’s indoor putting green and short-game practice area “the best they’ve seen.”
Golf Nation general manager Tim Wuhrman said his company owes a lot of its current success to the company that designed and built the 25,000-square feet facility that caters to golf and fitness. “Turf Solutions did every single aspect of our synthetic components,” Wuhrman said. “It was a very big job.”
Golf Nation is a year-round golf practice facility and fitness center which currently has more than 500 members. It features a 2,000 square-foot practice green, a 2,400 square-foot short-game area with an indoor bunker, a lighted, heated driving range and a par 3 course with shots that play up to 70 yards.
Golf Nation also features a fitness center, pro shop, four golf simulators, banquet space, conference room and a full-service lounge.
It also is home to Todd Sones Impact Golf. Sones, ranked among the nation’s best instructors by Golf Digest, works with several PGA Tour players and teaches lessons by appointment at Golf Nation.
Finding the right company for such an ambitious development took some time, but Wuhrman is confident their patience paid off. “We looked at so many different companies, and met with numerous ones,” Wuhrman said of his search, which culminated at the PGA Show in 2007. “Over time, (TSG’s) design work and the quality of their product stood out.
“They are the top synthetic company in the country. We are very happy with their work. And it helped that they were local. Dealing with Jason Payne, their managing partner, was a pleasant experience.”
