Two More Cowboys Selected On Draft’s Final Day


Oklahoma State had two players selected on the final day of the 2011 Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft Wednesday, bringing their total for this year’s draft to six.

Both Cowboys selected Wednesday went in the 38th round, with pitcher Brad Propst going to the Houston Astros with the 1,150th overall pick and outfielder Devin Shines being taken by the Los Angeles Dodgers with pick 1,154.

Propst completed his three-year career this season. A converted infielder, the right-hander appeared in 46 career games on the mound and was 10-8 with a 3.50 . As a senior, he turned in a 7-6 record and a 3.66 and hurled three complete games in 16 starts.

A junior outfielder, Shines came to two years ago but redshirted the 2010 season with an injury. He appeared in 55 games this season and hit .270 with four home runs and 27 s, and he led the Cowboys with six stolen bases.
