Union Schools Announces Administrative Changes

Heather Federline has been named the new principal for Rosa Parks Elementary School, 13702 E. 46th Place South. Federline has been with Union for 21 years and has served as an assistant principal for the past eight.
Federline replaces Jackie DuPont, who has left Union to work for Opportunity Project, a non-profit organization. DuPont worked for Union for seven years, most recently as principal of Rosa Parks. 
Clayton Hucke, who was named interim principal at the Union 6th/7th Grade Center, 10100 E. 61st Street, last winter, has been name a full-time principal at the school site. 
“I am so excited and honored to be given this opportunity and can’t wait to start this new journey,” Federline said. “The past year at Roy Clark was a blessing and I will miss my family tremendously. They will always hold a special place in my heart. Wow! 2020 has sure been full of surprises, but this news was definitely the best. I’m overjoyed.”
Federline’s teaching career began in 1997 as a second grade teacher in Noel, Mo.  She joined Union in 1999 at Boevers Elementary teaching kindergarten and first grade. During her time at Boevers, she served on various committees and in many leadership roles.  She was named their Teacher of the Year in 2002-2003.  Federline was named administrative intern for Clark Elementary School in the summer of 2012 and became assistant principal in the summer of 2014. She moved to Jarman as assistant principal in 2017 before returning to Roy Clark in 2019.
Federline earned her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from Northeastern State University in 1997.  She earned a master’s degree in early childhood education in 2004 and elementary principal certification in 2012, both from Northeastern State University.
Hucke previously served as an assistant principal/intern at Union High School, since 2013. He came to Union from Owasso Public Schools, where he was a high school Spanish and economics teacher. However, he has also worked for the Union Adult Education program since 2009 as an English as a Second Language teacher, teaching two English classes a week with adult students. Prior to his stint in Owasso, he briefly served as a high school English teacher in Temuco, Chile. 
Hucke received his bachelor’s degree in sociology and economics from Oklahoma State University and his master’s degree in school administration from Northeastern State.
