Union Plans Benefit Golf Tournament
A first annual golf tournament is being planned for June 9, 2005 to benefit the Union Schools Education Foundation. The tournament is slated to be played at Battle Creek Golf Club.
The Education Foundation has held an annual dinner and auction for several years to raise money to support grants for teachers within the school district. This tournament is a new endeavor by the Foundation to increase funding to supply additional grant awards to teachers.
The golf tournament will offer both morning and afternoon flights with a complimentary lunch buffet planned between the rounds. In addition, beverages and snacks will also be available complimentary throughout the day for golfers.
According to golf chairman Dennis Steele, “The Foundation has been very successful with the auction; however, we saw another avenue to increase funding through a golf tournament. We have a number of sponsorship opportunities available for business support and are anxious to get foursomes entered to play. It should be a great day of fun and competition while raising money to support our school system.”
Individual entries for the tournament are $125 and a foursome will be $500. Individual hole sign sponsorships begin at $100 with Gold, Silver and Bronze corporate sponsorships available.
