Widespread Panic Announces Confirmed Dates for Spring tour
Nashville, TN – Widespread Panic has just announced dates for their 2011 spring tour. As part of the yearlong celebration of their 25th Anniversary, Widespread Panic wants to show appreciation for their fans by returning to some of the venues their fans deemed as favorites. A few of these halls, Panic has not performed at in recent years.
The tour kicks off with two nights at the intimate Palace in Louisville, KY on April 1st & 2nd, where the band has not performed since 2007. Panic will also be returning to Asheville, NC for the first time in over two years to play at the Civic Center on April 8th & 9th. Special guests JJ Grey & Mofro will open both shows. The biggest news for longtime Panic fans is the announcement of the April 15th & 16th shows at the Verizon Wireless Amphatheater (formerly Oak Mountain Amphitheater) outside of Birmingham, AL where the band has not played since 2002. Special guests, The Charlie Daniels Band will open the first night, with Big Gigantic opening the following evening. Many historic Widespread Panic shows have taken place o n these sites, and fans are sure to help make these dates special in the annals of Panic history.
After 25 years, Widespread Panic continue to be one of the top touring acts in the country, playing to packed houses and setting attendance records throughout the US. Panic’s live performances have become legendary and the relationship between the band and their fans is something to behold.
As 2011 unfolds, Widespread Panic will be announcing more shows and events to celebrate their Silver Anniversary.
