PARADE PARTICIPANTS: Among the participants in the Will Rogers Parade in Claremore Nov. 4 were Linda Bradshaw, left, with the Cherokee Women’s Pocahontas Club, and Caryl Kuykendall of the Rotary Club of Tulsa.

The Cherokee Women’s Club was founded in 1899, and representatives have been performing the wreath-laying ceremony at the Will Rogers Memorial since 1938. They strive to keep Cherokee traditions alive and also annually give scholarships to Cherokee students. Bradshaw, also a member of the Rotary Club of Tulsa, says that her grandparents were on the Dawes Rolls and received land allotment in the Claremore area.
